2-Minute Microwave Red Velvet Cake Bowl

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour (2½ oz/71 g)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (2 oz/57 g)
  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • cup whole milk (2½ fl oz/71 ml) (at room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons red food color (or ¼ teaspoon red gel color)

Cream Cheese Frosting or whipped cream and sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • In a medium, microwavable bowl, add the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking powder and stir together.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the milk, vinegar, oil and red food coloring.
  • Add the wet ingredients into the dry and mix until the batter is smooth.
  • Microwave on high for 90 seconds. Check for doneness and continue to cook in 20-second increments, until cooked through. (It will most likely be done in about 2 minutes.) This timing is based on a 1200WATT microwave so check your wattage.
  • Let cool completely before frosting with cream cheese frosting or whipped cream and sprinkles. The flamingo and umbrella are optional! Enjoy straight away.
